Assorted Cake Slices

If your family is anything like mine, no one can agree on one flavour. This was the perfect solution!
My son got his chocolate cake, my daughter got her strawberry cake, my husband got his matcha and I got my carrot cake!
We enjoyed most of the cakes, some were more flavoursome than others. But the sponge was super soft for all of them.
We all loved the triple chocolate - it was really nicely balanced, sweet enough for kids to like but not too sweet for adults.
The ube flavour felt abit flat but we loved the colour. The Dubai chocolate, the matcha strawberry, and the strawberry lychee were our favourites.
Will definitely purchase again for the next family birthday cake. Thank you for your creations Angela’s Bakery! We had a lot of fun devouring the cakes.

I’ve bought cakes from Angela’s bakery in the past and they were all have been great. So this time I decided to order the assorted slices so I can taste a few different cakes. First of all, the ordering process was easy enough, but the local delivery options were very confusing, I could not make it work when paying by Apple Pay, it keeps rejecting the address, so in the end I decided to change it to pick up. Not sure what’s happening there. I think the move to Shop broke something.
Secondly, the cakes were hit and miss. I ordered the Strawberry Lychee, Pandan Cheese, Earl Grey Yuzu, and Matcha Yuzu.
The Strawberry Lychee is good, I like it. I can taste the lychee chunks.
Unfortunately the Earl Grey Yuzu and Matcha Yuzu weren’t as enjoyable. It’s not because they did not taste good, it’s more the flavour is so subtle, I can hardly taste the earl grey nor the matcha. Also the yuzu curd is like a gel or jelly, it’s quite solid, definitely not how curd is supposed to be (or the curd is too set).
The last one, Pandan Cheese, now I’m pretty sure I did request Pandan Cheese, but what was supplied is the Pandan Ondeh instead. The problem is I cannot check my order again since the notes was not part of the email or order confirmation, so I cannot say 100% if this was my mistake or their mistake. I know they have the rights to replace the chosen flavour if they ran out of it, but even if they did, a note would be nice. However, that aside, I actually enjoy the Pandan Ondeh. The Pandan flavour is there (although it’s still on the subtle side, but more prominent compared to the Matcha or the Earl Grey ones), andI can taste the coconut and the palm sugar, it certainly reminded me of the real Ondeh (Indonesian snack).
So yeah, there were some positives and negatives both from the ordering experience and the cake itself. Probably the biggest disappointment was the yuzu curd which was too set/hard/solid so more like a gel/jelly. It would also be good if they can be bolder with the flavours.

Easy to order online and pick up in store. They were the prettiest slices of cake I'd ever seen, it was so beautifully presented I almost felt bad for eating it. I got the assorted slices as I'd been wanting to try Angela's cakes for a long time amd had a birthday to use as an excuse. Had a wonderful time playing pass the parcel with cake slices and trying all the different flavours. Couldn't recommend highly enough
